Texas ranks as the 41st highest taxed state to live in according to this article.  Maybe we shouldn’t further raise our sales tax, as the current administration wishes to do.  Sales taxes are most severe on lower to mid-income households since they are taxed on nearly 100% of their disposable income vs. only a small percentage of disposable income for the wealthy.  Most businesses are minimally affected by sales taxes, as well.  Thus, this burden rests on lower to mid-income taxpayers.
